P&K Midwest recently teamed up with John Deere to sponsor an urban farm project in Davenport, IA. Students in the Environmental Science Club at Mid City High School are building the farm/garden project as a study in sustainable living, nutrition, and our local environment.
P&K is providing the equipment to do the heavy lifting (and tilling/field prep), working alongside students to make sure the gardens are ready to go! We are pleased to be part of this project and we can't wait to see what these bright young kids do with their urban farm project.
We were there yesterday, along with our friends from John Deere and some Mid City administration, to break ground and to celebrate the initiative of this group of students. Now, we're ready to get to work... we hope they save us some berries and sweet corn once they're ready!
